Kalaloch Lodge is proud to participate in the HEALTHY DINING PROGRAM.  Chef Ashley and his team at the Creekside Restaurant are credited for successfully attaining approval for several menu items that meet the strict criteria as a part of the “Healthy Dining”, “Sodium Savvy” and “Kids LiveWell” programs.

The HEALTHY DINING PROGRAM was launched in 2007 in collaboration with the National Restaurant Association (NRA) and with partial funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), this program is the largest restaurant nutrition initiative.

The organization is committed to helping customers dine out supporting a healthy lifestyle.  Restaurants and menu choices are hand-picked by their registered dietitians because they meet specific nutritional criteria and incorporate lean and high-nutrient ingredients based upon nutritional recommendations from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).

HEALTHY DINING’s website provides consumers with a credible and easy resource to identify restaurants that offer dietitian-approved HEALTHY DINING menu options and corresponding nutrition information.

The “Sodium Savvy” program helps to identify those menu items that adhere to strict sodium criteria.

The “Kids LiveWell” choices emphasize lean proteins, fruits, vegetables, whole grains and low-fat dairy, as well as meet stringent nutritional criteria to contribute to enhancing the health of our nation’s children.

With the continued leadership and perseverance of Chef Ashley, Kalaloch Lodge anticipates certifying additional menu items within the next few months.
