More than 100 children were divided into groups to set off on a three-hour adventure through Delaware North’s global headquarters on Tuesday for Bring Your Kids to Work Day.

Among many highlights: The groups participated in competitions to create new pizza concepts; there was a multifloor scavenger hunt; Director of Sustainability Deb Friedel led an herb-and-vegetable-planting activity; and building tours included stops to the company’s innovative social media command center.

After the activities, the children reconnected with their parents and enjoyed a lunch prepared by the Delaware North Sportservice culinary team from nearby KeyBank Center — led by Executive Chef Stephen Forman and Sous Chef Shawn Glieco, both of whom also led the pizza-making competition.

The event was organized by a committee led by Bill Vertalino, a senior human resources analyst of organizational effectiveness.
