Delaware North Sportservice’s team at Target Field last week took part in an event created to help homeless veterans during the holiday season. The event, called Home for the Holidays, was hosted by the Minnesota Twins and local TV station WCCO at Target Field, where Delaware North Sportservice operates food, beverage and retail services.

The event provided a meal, prepared and served by the Delaware North team, to veterans who have fallen on hard times and also gave them an opportunity to meet with a variety of social service and veterans’ agencies. The services included everything from providing clothing to job or housing placement within the Minneapolis community.

Joining the Delaware North team at the event were several current and former Minnesota Twins players, as well as broadcasters from WCCO-TV.

Earlier this month, the onsite team also took part in an event with The Sheridan Story, a local not-for-profit that works to eliminate child hunger in the Minneapolis community.

The team joined members of the Twins organization and other corporate partners to package 2,000 bags full of 7,000 meals for disadvantaged children. The Sheridan Story provides meals to children during “gap periods,” days when they don’t have access to school lunches, such as weekends and vacation weeks.
